[IRW Javelin, Fyrriol System]

"EnEredh!" The voice over the communication panel blasted out like a shockwave. The voice, tinged with anger and static, hissed at Nniol. "You were ordered NOT to enter the asteroid field! This is simply a propulsion test!"

Nniol eyed the panel with a coy smirk. "What better way to test this new fighter system than by giving it a real trial run?" He could hear a familiar groan on the other side of the comm line. Yep, you chose me, you knew what you were getting into. He mentally laughed and brough the fighter through a hollow asteroid and danced around the rocky debris like a hummingbird gliding between flowers. He pressed a control on the panel and heard the weapon system buzz alive with electrical excitement.

"Why have you activated the weapons systems?!"

Why indeed? He grinned and pulled the fighter around and took aim at several smaller space debris as he sped towards them. Greens lines of powerful energy lanced out and turned those tiny rocks into nanoparticles of dust and hot energy. Oh, this was definitely an upgrade. The new fighter design for the Star Navy was an exquisite piece of technology. He pulled through several more asteroids and continued firing as he went making large, charred arcs on their light brown surfaces as he went.

[Bridge, IRW Javelin]

Lhran stared at the viewscreen of the fighter in the asteroid field. Across the bridge the chief flight officer was screaming into the comm system. Why did this boy not listen? He looked at his RS "what is he doing?"

"Sorry Rekkhai, I am not sure…" His RS, t'Jaarin, said studying the same scene on the screen in front of them "but I may have a solution to our problem."

"I would wring his neck if his mother the Galae'EnRiov." Lhran sighed. He had initially been excited about the prospect of having the Galae'EnRiov's son serve under him. The glory and honor that would bring to his ship but instead it has turned into quite the headache. "What is your solution?"

"Promotion."

Lhran turned away from the screen and eyed his RS "Promotion? What do you mean?"

"I have heard rumors" of course when she said 'rumors' Lhran knew she meant gossip but continued to listen intently anyways, it was never too late for a little tea "that the Aylhr has a new commanding officer. Apparently tr'Neyl has been given the command seat."

"t'Neyl…" he hummed the name in his head until he released why it was so familiar "you mean Ameh'ah t'Neyl's child?"

She nodded at him "indeed. So, let us promote EnEredh. We can have him transferred to the Aylhr. It will allow us to save face with the Galae'EnRiov and also remove him from our hands."

"Ohh." Lhran nodded heavily at t'Jaarin "clever, clever! Yes, let us do that!"

[Flight Deck, IRW Javelin]

Nniol brought the fighter down and then allowed the cockpit to depressurize to the flight deck's atmosphere before he opened it. Pulling himself out he found himself in front of the ship's Leih, Lhran tr'Aimne, the somewhat stout Riov was rubbing his hands together, which Nniol found odd. Normally tr'Aimne was shouting his name or fussing about random nonsense. He smiled and jumped down to the deck "Rekkhai" and saluted.

"tr'Rehu, I have great news!"

"Oh?" Nniol was genuinely curious. He half expected to get chewed out upon arriving back- so this was a change from the norm.

"Based on your accomplishments and service to the Empire thus far, we have decided to promote you!"

"Ohhh…" One of Nniol's brows rose in Vulcan-like fashion. His mother had once commented about this, and surmised he learned that behavior from his god-mother Sakarra Tyrax. He didn't doubt it- he certainly learned his piloting ability from her "well, that's good." He said, though his voice lacked the same enthusiasm as Lhran. He couldn't help but think this was some sort of ploy, but he decided to play along.

"Indeed. Apparently the Aylhr is looking for a Chief Flight Officer, and we have recommended you for the position."

His brow rose slightly higher. The Aylhr? Well that certainly changed things. Well, this was certainly an exciting development. Ploy or not. Poor tr'Aimne would probably find his life a lot more boring once Nniol was gone. However, he couldn't give up a chance to serve on the Aylhr "wonderful! I am deeply honored Riov tr'Aimne." He lowered his head deeply and smirked out of the Riov's sight.
