[Verelan Estate, Romulus]

[Part 5]

16:30 Hours

T'Imina sighed as she focused on several ring-lines of the large mahogany stained table that was in the dining suite of her father's estate apartment. The oversized, hand-crafted table was an antique of sorts. She remembered her father telling her that it was his great grand-fathers. The table had played host to many a senator and senior Galae officials over the past couple a centuries but now it would play host to herself and a man she did everything she could to spend minimal time with these days.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the elegant sounding chimes, which sounded from the adjacent corridor - a friendly warning that her father was nearing entry. T'Imina stood from her chair, and straighened out her dress uniform. Laraun had done a tremendous job as usual in seeing to its processing.

As Khre'Riov Vamim tr'Verelan strode into the dining area, looking down a PADD, he seemed to pay little attention to his daughter who had stood up at attention. He had spent the past several hours charming a number of senators, in lobbying various interests of the Tal'Diann. It was not a task he particularly enjoyed but one that had become expected from him over the years.

"At ease erie'Riov. Sit." He spat this out, still looking down at his PADD as he took his seat. It was only when they were both seated that he tossed the PADD with a certain annoyance down on the table surface. His own crimson red eyes finally met those of his daughter, "I trust Laraun has seen to your settling in?"

T'Imina nodded, although in a slightly reserved way.

"Good. I wanted to personally deliver your next assignment to you, now that we've seen to your short-comings." Vamim practically snarled at his daughter. There was a palpable bitterness in his energy towards her - unsurprising considering she had not only lied to him but had let her treasonous brother run free upon orders to subdue and eliminate him.

Vamim sat back, having grabbed the flute glass with Romulan ale in it which has been sitting there waiting for him. He had seen to T'Imina's harsh punishment and rehabiliation with his own orders, but had also covered her tracks and actions in relation to her brother's treachery. It is why he had T'Imina herself, execute him in a visible fashion to his superiors.

The Khre'Riov could take no further chances of disgrace or missteps from his house. He had carefully and meticulously seen to the elimination of Rilol's existence from public record - as far as he was concerned, he had no son and T'Imina had never been a twin. She is all he had left to continue championing the respected name of their house - and he would rule her into submission.

"You're being assigned as Tal'Diann of the Vadmoir. Riov t'Nerik is the Leih and is a personal friend. He is an honourable soldier and loyal to our traditional ways. You will not fail him." Vamim's expression was one of stone. "There will be no second chances T'Imina. I will kill you myself if you mistep once more. Do you understand?"

T'Imina let no emotion show on her face as she replied, "Yes father."

"Excellent." The Khre'Riov took another swig of the blue ale out of flute glass and set is back down. "Then that just leaves one more thing…" Vamim reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful looking necklace - it appeared to be a half planet that resembled Romulus, shaped out of a gorgeous emerald. "I believe this is the last piece of… him… you have… I even remember the day he gave this to you. On your eighteen birthday, if I recall correctly?"

Rilol had gifted this half to his sister. It was a cherished item. He had held the other half of the emerald, and when put together it was a whole version of what represented Romulus and their bond as brother and sister.

"I.." T'Imina thought carefully before speaking. It is true. She had held onto that item, thinking that her father would no go to such lengths or ever care that she kept it. Clearly - he had her things searched, and it was her own failure in bringing it with her. It was the last piece of her brother she had. Her heart began beating fast and her breath attempted to run away from her, but she grasped onto it in desperation. It was important to not show emotion or reaction to this - her father had clearly not concluded his testing of her.

The erie'Riov slowly rose from her chair and walked a few steps over to a hutch. She opened one of the drawers and pulled out a disrupter. Within seconds the necklace vanished as a hot beam of green light had ensured its vaporization on the table. T'Iiminas aim had been flawless. On the inside, she was screaming. On the outside, her facial expression remained like a dark void.

Vamim smiled. "Excellent T'Imina. Now… Shall we eat?"

T'Imina nodded and placed the disrupted back into the hutch. She resumed her seat and listened to her father's rambling of current politics. He acted as if the destruction of the last piece of her brother meant nothing to him…

She was sure it didn't…
