[Verelan Estate, Romulus]

[Part 4]

10:30 Hours

A cold chill went down T'Imina's spine as she exited the lift into a grand looking hallway. The white and green hue marbled floor perfectly reflected a worn and tired looking soul - for once, T'Imina felt the way she had looked. She had been through an awful affair, an attempt to test both her resolve and loyalty. It had been a game both won and lost at the hands of her father - he had taken no chances in assuming where her loyalties lie a second time around. The man was a brutal bastard - one to both admire but detest in balance.

A soft and welcoming voice interrupted T'Imina's almost frozen like stance. "Welcome home, Miss. Please… Let me get that for you."

Rarely was T'Imina was for being easily startled, perhaps it was the fact she was amidst a place full of unhappy memories. She imagined that returning home for most was a time of celebration and happiness - for her it was a punishment. Perhaps the only bright part of being here was standing beside her now, arm held out in gesture to take her carry-on.

It was their house-keeper, Laraun, who had tended to their floor level estate in the capital as far as T'Imina could recall - even before the death of her mother. "Thank you Laraun." The withered erie'Riov gently passed her the bag and stifled a sigh. "Is my father home?" The question had a certain dread to it, one that Laraun could pick up on.

"He is not. He had business to attend to with a Senator of some sort - I can never keep his schedule straight. He should be home later this afternoon." The two started walking in tandem, slowly and tenderly across the large apartment and towards T'Imina's room. "He has requested I prepare dinner for you both, promptly for sixteen-thirty hours. Your presence is of course…. preferred."

"I understand. Thank you Laraun." It was the softest of ways her elder house-keeper could word what T'Imina knew was not a request. At least she had a few hours to rest and freshen up. Her assumption would be this was not a casual call - her father had ordered her return to Romulus after her time on Samnar. She could only imagine that this was her debriefing.

"I will press your uniform, while you take some time to rest. Dinner will be in full dress as per usual protocol." Lauran lightly clasped T'Imina's right shoulder as they reached her room. "Will make sure I return with a wake up call at fifteen-hundred hours… It is good to have you back here T'Imina."

There were very few people in existance who would have an arm left after touching her so intimately, but Laraun was one of those few. She was perhaps the closest thing to a grounding force within the Verelan estate, and one of a few who could somehow render what little compassion her father had left. Many a times, Laraun had been able to save both her and Rilol a beating in their youth. Their father's rule had been a heavy one.

"You too Laraun…" T'Imina looked the woman deeply in her eyes - her own hard exterior remained firm, but her red crimson eyes showed the damage that had so recently been inflicted. The damned old woman had always had a way with knowing - no words ever needed. There was a softness in the eyes that looked back at her, a look that somehow made some of the pain go away.

A few moments later - the two had parted ways and T'Imina was once again alone with her thoughts. Her room had not changed any. It seemed a ghost of itself from decades prior. "Computer. Close blinds and turn the lights off." She needed sleep.. If she was going to get through what was coming in the next few hours…
