[T'Imina's Chamber, Romulan Special Operations Training Centre, Samnar]

[Part 3]

13:30hrs

The proud, red headed Romulan woman looked at herself intently in the mirror within the small cramped bathroom of her chambers at the training centre. Her face looked slightly sunken in, malnourished, the bags underneath her eyes exposed the exhausted and withered state of her physical body. It was her mental state, however, which was in true dire condition. T'Imina had thankfully acquired a strict meditation regiment throughout the years, and had worked hard to maintain a stable and strong psyche but this particular program and training had nearly broken that for her.

'I do not know how much more of this I can take…' She dare not say the words aloud but let herself acknowledge the voice within her head. It was as if her father himself had designed the brutal and intense physical and emotional tests she had endured. There were stories of training programs like this within the Tal'Diann and even more so within the Tal'Shiar.

It was at that moment that T'Iminar's deep crimson eyes widened and seemed to glare a brighter shade of red, as she reasoned with herself. This wasn't just a special forces training centre - she was enduring a Tal'Shiar training program. It made sense - she had never encountered such brutal tactics within her training prior. It had to be so.

Her father had gone to the trouble of calling in several favours for this one, there was no doubt in that. Where was she though? She had no idea. She also did not know the date or how much time had passed. Her best guess was perhaps a couple of weeks.

"Arrain t'Verelan. Please report in full dress in twenty minutes to the sub-chamber three. Your escort will be there in approximately seventeen minutes." A cold, mono-tone voice came from the overhead speakers within her chambers. T'Imina looked at herself intently once more, before activating the water station and splashing some on her face in an attempt to bring back some life to it.

// 23 Minutes Later…

[Sub-Chamber 3, Romulan Special Operations Training Centre, Samnar]

"Thank you for coming, Arrain. Please. Take a seat" It was the elderly male Romulan officer, who had been assigned as her Inquisitor of sorts since her arrival. T'Imina knew he had just been doing his job, seeing to her training and conditioning but that still did little to avert the urge to take any nearby sharp tool and drive it straight through his eye socket.

"Your training is near completion. You have done well overall. Certainly not breaking any records of course, but a respectable showing." The man's tone seemed satisfied as he rose from his desk and approached T'Imina, who had taken a seat in a centered metallic chair with restraints and a large circular scanning base above it.

"I am pleased to hear that." T'Imina's voice replied in a cold, detached and disinterested manner. Although deep inside, she was a fury of excitement and relief. This she would never let show on her facial expression. It remained cold itself and calculated.

"You carry a great deal of guilt within you, T'Imina. It is a shame. It is a weakness." The old man swiftly moved beside the woman and attached a small circular device to her right temple. Another medical officer enclosed her other side and injected her with some substance. "It is something we need to address before you can leave this place."

Despite her best efforts, T'Imina's own heart rate increased and she gulped. There was no way that they knew? Her father had intently covered up and erased the existence of her brother. Deep within her own gut though, she knew where this was going.

"We need to free you of the chains of your heart Arrain." The old man moved closely to T'Imina and restraints were activated. "Free you of…. Rilol….." Was the last thing T'Imina heard before a cloud of overwhelming disorientation took over - her insides screaming for help.

// 7 hours later…

Many screams and tears had emanated from sub-chamber three in the past several hours, as T'Imina was forced to relive the traumatic events of her brother's death over and over again. Her part in it. The guilt she had harboured deep within her, brought to the surface and exposed to all that had taken part in her conditioning.

"You deserved to die. You traitor. How could you do this to me?" T'Imina screamed at his brother as she raised her disruptor and fired point blank at his head. "You left me no choice. NONE! I will always hate you!"

// 10 hours later....

"Congratulations T'Imina… Or should I say…. erie'Riov t'Verelan." The old man replaced the Arrain ranking symbol on the woman's uniform tunic. Her torture was over. She had learned upon completion of her last and final session, that she had been at the facility for a total of two and a half months.

"You are a loyal subject of our glorious empire, erie'Riov. Do not let any guilt harbour within you for acts which protect and secure our peoples. You are Tal'Diann once more…."
